A year full of excitement, some resentment, adventures, misadventures, meeting new people and gaining new friends, ravaging calamities that made each one of us stronger, lonely moments from unexpected exit of notable people - these new experiences I got really are worth a watch back for this year 2009. Even though through out most of the year the world was confronted with a lot of misfortunes, it is a good thing that we are still in good shape despite these. And all thanks to Him. :)

Now another new Year of the Tiger will unfold. May all of you have a Blessed and Prosperous New Year!

Inevitable. Even if sometimes you wish it won't happen. Or probably was caught off-guard, that eventually it happened.

Ondoy made a knee-deep floodwater (+ canal water) inside our house, but I know this situation is better than those from really seriously hit.

Which I should be thankful. And this is a once-of-a-lifetime experience I surely won't forget.

There's still a fourth of the whole year remaining. I hope all things go well soon. Kindly guide us, my family, our nation, the world.

It's that time again. Yeah, a post for this month.

Been busy having shoots every week (as a friend told/noticed so). I basically wasted my precious weekend to go to events and click my camera's shutter button all the way, that at some point I really ran out of batteries lol.

This month, I got the chance to:

Amane Misa.bump with a cute Amane Misa character

Cherry on Top.eat a delicious ice cream in a birthday surprise for a friend

Goblet Fountain.
look around a bridal expo and see those glamour and style for setting receptions

Silhouette.stroll on the bayside and take pictures of people in silhouette

and

Sagala.enjoy a Flores de Mayo parade with those colorful gowns and beautiful sagalas

That's all for May. I wonder what's in store for me for the next month.

It's March 31. I've been really busy with everything (mostly work) this month.

But I won't let the month pass away without a single LJ post XD.

So. This is it. Haha.

Anyway, just to make this post quite meaningful, I'll just share a pic below:

Is it Right to Turn Right? Is it Right to Turn Right?

Took this shot while walking around the streets of Makati. I found this "appropriate" describing my state as of now because I'm having some trouble making decisions again. May it be work or something personal. Sometimes I think I'm being careless again with my thoughts and actions when I usually communicate with people around me. Or maybe I'm just thinking too much again. Lol.

Anyway, for other matters, yesterday I got from my manager a new parchment paper. I was surprised why, and after looking and reading it for a second I realized it's that time of the year again. After putting it in my drawer, I pondered if it was really worth it, though.

And I'm still pondering over it.

'Til next time.

P.S.
Finally, I got your approval. I really had a hard time having nth iterations for your "incomplete" thoughts. :| (Well, I think everybody does think of that way, too)

P.P.S.
Sorry for a not good mix of thoughts in this post. x_x

It's been a while since I made a new post.

Finally today, I moved to my new place at work. New ambiance, new desk to sleep work on, new people around me. I quite miss my old spot, maybe because I also miss those people I've worked with. Actually even if I've been in the new project for two months now, I still can't find my "place" among them; I'm still grasping how I should interact with them. Though I know I'll be getting the hang of this surely, in time, like what I've experienced with other people before.

I just need to adapt.

Anyways, my former co-workers are just a partition away, so no worries.

'Til next time.

It's just now how I "realized" the effect of the global recession. Well, on a large scale, as our chairman discussed today the company's performance last year, and showed to everybody a negative net income increase. Because of this, he provided the company's direction and mission for this year. Quite aggressive, I think, but it's the only way to "survive" the current situation. And I quote him:

"It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most wisest that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change." (original from Charles Darwin)

With this, he ended his speech by saying his favorite motto: Let's enjoy work.

I hope I will, for this year. And I need to change something in me to improve work effectively and efficiently.

After the chairman's and the president's speech came the patent and kaizen awards. Before the meeting, my former section manager told me that we will be seating in front for today's meeting. I was puzzled why. After the vice president presented the agenda of the meeting, it was then when I had the hunch that there's something we will be receiving.

And so came the patent awards. My section manager and I walked in front after announcing that we won the best patent activity for the year 2008. It was my first time to gaze at the whole company audience, and I had stage fright lol. My hands were shaking as I shook hands with the chairman XD. And I felt that strange feeling again - the last time I felt it was when I was speaking before a crowd of more than a thousand graduates back in my elementary days. Though it felt good.

The trophy was a special one, made in Japan lol. And it was quite heavy for its medium size. I held it firmly when we had a second group picture session. I was standing beside the chairman, and he said to me "Congratulations!". I thanked him, and it was quite an odd feeling, talking to someone who's of a higher rank than me XD.

I quote one friend: Well kita mo? Nagpay-off ang OT mo noon hehehe. And I think I have an entry whining about how hard it is to do XD. But I'm grateful with this because I never imagined the efforts we've done will be made visible to others.

Seems like the year's starting right for me. I hope it goes well for the rest.

Time to burn those brows again for project plans, schedules and the like starting tomorrow XD.

'Til next time.

...and let those speckles of light shine in the dark.

It's just barely an hour left before this year wraps up and another new year comes along. We just came home early morning today from a Christmas vacation with my maternal relatives in the province. During my stay there I've been thinking all the things that happened to me this year, reminiscing each of what I've done (good and/or bad), the different experiences each brought to me, and how it made me change.

And some of the most notable were all written here.

The year of the rat turns out to be a rich year for me. It has given me the opportunity to try what I haven't experienced/done before, to meet new people and mingle with them, and to learn more valuable lessons all just waiting to be unlocked from the chest of what is called life. And I'm grateful with that.

Year of the ox, lets see what you've got for me (and for everyone too).

'Til next time.

P.S.
A Prosperous New Year to everybody. :)

Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

This year I've been busy!

Last Saturday I set [info]tainted_tempest's puppy on fire (-66 points). Last Tuesday I helped [info]inquibbler see the light (8 points). Last Sunday I gave [info]aileen_kotone a wet willie, then I took it back (-5 points). In September I pushed [info]alathariel in the mud (-17 points). In November I gave [info]tiyaw a kidney (1000 points).

Overall, I've been nice (920 points). For Christmas I deserve a Nintendo Wii!

Sincerely,

P.S.
It's just really kind of Yoshida-san giving me something when he went back here last Friday: our group photograph when we had our patent dinner. And I consider it an early Christmas gift :). So Santa, I'm expecting that Wii from you XDDD. If you can't, a PS3 is an enough substitute ;).

P.P.S.
Seriously, I'm not asking for any gift. I just hope all will be OK before the year ends. For me, for us, for everybody.

Hataw Hanep Hero The Amped Edition

I was planning on going to Komikon first (to see and cover both events eventually), but due to heavy rains, I was constrained to go only here. Good thing the place was quite familiar to me (but for some, not), as I always pass by near it during weekdays. Hero TV of ABS-CBN annually holds this event and is one of the most anticipated anime and youth entertainment fair in the country.

H4 pics inside. )

Compared to last year's, this event is a "little organized". Besides the orderly catwalk, the place was properly ventilated. But the booths were quite few though. The Voltes V crew members' statues used were the ones that were present last year but now with missing hands XD. For the volume of people who attended, it's ok for me because there was plenty of room to move around XD. But I liked this event more than last year's.

UP AME 8th Avenue - Taking The Streets Of Harajuku

This time, I didn't let the chance to go in this UP AME event, considering I've been in the university for half of a decade lol. And it's nice having a visit to my Alma Mater once again, seeing all the green view I've always enjoyed before while strolling around (and while running too when going to my next class before).

The Harajuku District Inside )

I should say the event delivered what it needs to deliver, itinerary-wise. I saw event-goers' fashion sense in their own unique way. Since it's my first time to go in this event, I don't have any basis of comparison from their previous ones. But all-in-all, the event's ok.

Hopefully, when opportunity permits, I want to see the real Harajuku District in the future.

Level Up! Live 2008: The Rise of the Gaming Gods

Level Up! Live Event Stage

Held at the World Trade Center in Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City, this event is one of the biggest massive multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG) gathering of all players of Level Up! Inc. They spiced up the event to attract and summon both the hardcore and the casual gamers - they've been advertising this since March and even put a countdown in their official website. For the avid Ragnarok players, this boasted the Ragnarok 2008 World Championships. Players from Thailand, Korea, Indonesia, Brazil, US, Russia, Germany and the Philippines came over to fight inside a virtual arena to show their character's superior skills in player-versus-player (PVP) combat. Other LU! MMORPG franchises also had their own attention-seeker promos, events and booths for players to enjoy.

More Inside. )

I personally liked the venue (just like last year) because there's really room to move around. Though it's not as "exciting" as it was before, maybe because I didn't participate in any event lol. Btw, for the cosplay part, I just don't get why I saw some D-Gray Man, Tamaki from Ouran and a crazy Hatsune Miku costrippers roaming around. They should've at least thought of something appropriate to portray - with the event belonging to an online gaming genre. Oh well. Attention-seekers.

The over-all champion for the Ragnarok 2008 World Championships is Thailand. They got it again this year. I watched the battle for third between Indonesia and the Philippines but ours were slaughtered badly :|.

I do hope the cosplayer who fell off the stage wasn't hurt badly.. They should put some safety boards/covers around next time.

Cosplay Mania '08

Event Stage

Next on my list: Cosplay Mania '08. This event was literally JAMPACKED. The organizers only booked MegaTradeHall 3, but people, both cosplayers and spectators, were continuously filling the area (like water) until there were no more tickets to be issued. A sea of humans after. LOL.

The Event In Detail Inside )

If the organizers have booked another hall for this, the event might have been more successful. But still, kudos to them for summoning the Filipino cosplayers, for them sharing their art and creativity of making costumes and imparting their enthusiasm of effectively portraying different characters. The event was a success.

The HR section manager came to my work area suddenly this afternoon. She gave me two kinds of paper - a parchment-type and a photocopy-type. I signed on the photocopy.

It's now official. I've finally changed my project. The technical transfer hasn't started yet though. And I haven't moved yet.

Tomorrow I need to make my transition plan for the one who'll replace me.

A natural sad feeling. I'll be finally leaving the project I've been for two years, and I've been attached to the people not only in the project but also within the section.

But I have no regrets. They'll just only be "one partition" away once I finally move my things.

I made a song for you, my friend
I made a song that I will sing for you
Filling my life with many beautiful lights
And a thousand melodies
You are my paradise

I made a song for you, my dream
I made a song that I will sing for you, my friend
Falling in love with every part of your life
Until the end of time
I love you more
Than my life

I wanna know you more
When you call me an angel
When you closely look into my eyes

Even though my love for you may fade away
I wanna give you more than words ever say
Cause I believe in you
And my song will fill the air when we're apart

Even though my love for you may fade away
I wanna let my words be true to the end of time
Cause I believe you'll never forget
and I won't forget the song in my heart

Every time when I was down
You always came around
And you love all the lights in my life

I am gonna sing forever
I am gonna sing forever

Close your eyes
I wanna give you more than words ever said
Cause I believe in you
And my song will fill the air when we're apart

Even though my love for you may fade away
I wanna let my words be true to the end of time

I remember sitting with you
Underneath the tree of life
We listened to every fainted cry
Of the creatures there on the day the world began

Looking at everything that I've lost
And almost everything that I've loved
I'll hold them all tightly in my arms,
Wondering where I am, so please tell me where to go

All of the answers you seek lie hidden in the sun
If I hadn't met you my life would've been in the darkness forever
In my wings are the powers of immortality
But by meeting you my whole life has changed
You give light to me hope to me strength into my life

All this time these twelve thousand years I know AISHITERU
Eight thousand years from the time that I've met you my love grows strong than ever before
Words can't say of this time I've been waiting to share my love with you
I'd give you my life, I would give you the world to see you smiling every day
One hundred million and two thousand years from now AISHITERU
I want you to know since you came in my life every day, every night you give light into the darkest skies

All these twelve thousand years
I've been loving you
